I find after sex with the non hormonal coil that I bleed a tiny bit after sex and I suffer with period pains, is this normal???
If you have small amounts of irregular bleeding then sometimes people find that they notice this after sex - sometimes it is just the movement of the uterus during sex that means that the blood enters the vagina at that time.
And of course the hormonal coil can cause small amounts of irregular bleeding.
But bleeding during or after sex can also have other causes, for example changes to the cervix (neck of the womb) or sexually transmitted infections.
So, it is always a good idea to be on the safe side and to get these things checked out - make sure that you are up to date with your smear test, do an infection screen and also visit your GP or sexual health service to check the neck of your womb.
