Chlamydia-treatment and next steps

I’ve had my test back and tested positive for chlamydia. Pretty shocked as the last person I didn’t use condoms with was an ex-partner a year ago, and I am fairly sure I got tested afterwards although cannot exactly recall my last test.

I’ve requested treatment but am concerned I may have had it a while without knowing and concerned about potential complications such as PIV/infertility. Is there a way to check whether it has caused any complications and would I need to get a separately treated or would the antibiotics I’m being sent treat this already?

Hello @Babaje

Good that you are getting treated. That is the best thing that you can do. Complications of chlamydia are uncommon and there is no way to test for them. The treatment is highly effective so I hope that should put your mind at rest.

Many thanks
