Getting an implant

Hi. I am 18 years old and thinking about getting an implant. My periods are not regular. I visited GP quite often on this matter but they never did any test instead they blamed it on stress of exams. They might been right, they are the doctors after all. I was wondering whether this may stop me from getting an implant. If not, what is the cost of one?
Waiting for your reply @Dr_Paula.

Hello @oliis

Implants are fitted free on the NHS so you should not have to pay.

You can still have an implant even if your periods are not regular. If you get a lot of very irregular bleeding then your doctor may do some tests (e.g. a screen for infection) before fitting the implant.

Many thanks
