Pamphlet vs NHS advice

#1

@Dr_Paula

I’m on gedarel 30/150 and my best friend is on rigevidon. Both of our pamphlets state that a missed pill is one taken 12 hours late, however I’ve noticed the advice on here and the NHS website states a missed pill is one taken 24h late. Is the pill pamphlet more cautious? Would it be dangerous not to follow the 12h rule?

Thanks in advance.

Hello EBGx

I’m being a bit slow replying over the Christmas period - apologies!

The old advice was that a missed pill is one taken 12 hours late, but the new advice is that a missed pill is one taken 24 hours late. This changed a few years ago, but the manufacturers have not updated their leaflets.

The UK Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Care says a missed pill is 24 hours late - so that is what we advise.

Hope helpful.

Thank you so much for your response!

This makes a lot of sense.
